Squats and Testosterone

So is there any substance to the rumor that heavy squats help increase test levels naturally? I have heard it from a couple sources and logically it add's up for me seeing as an increase in a large muscle group would help. Is there any science on this?
 
bump, i have been told that heavy compound exercises (not just squats-bench, deads, powerclean/olympic clean) will increase test production, its a plausible theory, but as yet i havnt been able to find anything in the way of science to back it up.
 
The 5x5 seems to be excellent at stimulating growth and increasing test production. I squat 3 times a week currently and my legs feel like they're carved from wood, its awesome. I've been doing isolation work and bodybuilding splits for over a year and nothing has increased my overall strength like the 5x5 so I'd say all these compound lifts are GREAT for test production. Just my 2 cents
 
Thats what I've always been told "That large muscle groups that get stimulated in compound movements cause increased test production" squats,using the largest muscle groups would be a good example..

Could've done without seeing him in the leotards though.
 
Squats rock. They're so awesome for everything from sports, to bar fights. I only squat once a week instead of 3 times a week but go balls out and have found much faster improvement versus 3 times a week
