Southern states

South Carolina. I did my basic training for the army there. I've also been to Tennessee. I live in what most people would consider the 'midwest' but living here all my life, I can safely say its part of the bible belt.

I went on a road trip this weekend.

South Alabama 30 miles before the Mississippi line.

Now that Southern..

All of them. I stayed in a town called Ridge Spring, South Carolina for a few weeks last year, while I was banging this girl. It was a totally different world. It was a "dry county", which I had never even heard of before. Meaning they didn't sell alcohol in that county. You also had to drive 20 minutes just to get to a damn 7-11. She told me that was Bible Belt, USA pretty much there.

born in tx, lived in ar, and nc. i say "y'all", "fixin to", and other southern crap on cue. oh and i also lived in hawaii. it doesn't get anymore "south"ern than that.

I've been all over "The South". I liked Louisiana.

Have you ever really been to a real Southern State?

If so where?

Born and raised in New Orleans, LA. College in Hattiesburg, MS. Last three years in Georgia.

Are those real Southern states? -actually, Lousiana is not a "real" southern state, since the French/Spanish influence makes it like no other state in the Union.

You speak as if most of the board is a bunch of Yankees and Canadians.

Poor bastards.

My parents are from Georgia. I have spent time there since I was a kid. I'm a northern guy though, I like winters breaking the constant humid heat.

i lived in alabama 19 years, i live in mississippi now 20 years here. thats about as southern as you can get.
ROLL TIDE. OLD MISS REBLES.

anything north of pensacola is yankee-ville.

pamela................cum to nawlinz for Mardi Gras next month..........we'll show you a REAL good time!!!!!!!! :)

Georgia, South Carolina, bits of Tennessee.

.............

Ive been to southeast San Diego... does that count? There were A LOT of trailer homes and horses.

Lots of mullets too. I left, quickly

I'm in SC, but I have been all over the south. I enjoy traveling to all the small outof the way towns you can find down here. The prettiest mountians are in NC and Virginia. The SC low country will always hold a special place in my heart, though. You get down in those tidal creeks and marshes, and it's like you have stepped back in time. :)

Did you have fun? :D

Actually, I did! My school was playing Clemson in a non-tournament match. We spent the night and drove home the next day. You almost got a call. :)

I was born in Mississippi. Lived in S. Carolina, Texas, Mississippi. Currently live in Austin, Tx. Ive lived in Texas the majority of my life. Ive never even BEEN up north, or experienced real cold of the north. Ive been to L.A. and SDiego for basic, and all the southern states through travel and such.

Did you know that Lynchberg TN. where they make Jack Daniels
is a dry county?

Have you ever heard about The Blue Law?

superdave: I love Austin, very cool town.

I am from SC...I've lived all over the state (Clemson, too!). Right now I am in Columbia. Sometimes I like it, sometimes I hate it....I am very back and forth with this town.

You went to Mississippi State?

Got that right on LA - amazing place.

I lived in GA and LA. Southern enough?

My #1 'southern' experience was on Thanksgiving 2002 at Ft. Benning GA. We were cooking tuirkeys for a bunch of soldiers who didn't get to go home, and we were running low on turkeys because there were like 20 guys.

Supermarkets were all closed, so my brother and I drove to Phenix City, Alabama (yes Phenix is the correct spelling) to the Super Wal-Mart to buy some more turkeys.

My bro is from NY city, still lives there. I told him "Look around - you're in Super WalMart in Alabama on Thanksgiving. Welcome to the South".

You know you're in the South when the nearest grocery is either Piggly Wiggly or Buy-Lo.

You were pretty close to where I live currently. I can't wait to get above the Mason/Dixon line again.

They closed down the Piggly Wiggly here, guess there weren't enough patrons using their food stamps there anymore. Never had a Buy-Lo though.
