Sources of protein

The majority of my protein intake is coming from powdered shakes (Isopure to be specific). I've read that shakes are not as effective as getting protein from whole foods. Is that true? If so, how big of a difference does it make?
 
i agree with with rage of sparta, 2-3 Shakes a day. I have 2 a day and i eat 6-9 meals dep. on what time i get up and go to bed.

They are just as effective but there is nutrients in whole foods that you cannot get from a shake.
 
Meat IS muscle. Meat is a way better protein source than a shake ever could be.
 
just take shakes when you don't have time to make or eat a real meal. the only exception i make for this is postworkout and at night.
