Source busted possibly??

I posted this on the legal board but no one is over there.

OK my buddy thinks that his guy got nabbed. He just sent an e-mail to the guy with western union confirmation code and his order. If the cops have the sources e-mail then how much trouble will my buddy get into for trying to buy? He doesn't have any currently so he isn't worried about possecion but rather what happens just for attempting???

How long has it been since he last heard from his guy? I'd say the odds are about the same that he'd turn scammer, I just wouldn't assume he was busted. Was it a lot of $?

Its been a week but he heard on another board about a bust involving UG gear in the same city as where his source is. I said possible scammer also but he doesn't think so. Its not much money...couple hundred..he just is fearing that he will get a knock on the door by the cops.

#1 rule, no matter what he should not speak to any detective should they call.

#2, if he doesnt say anything or admit anything, probably nothing will happen.

That is the type of info he is looking for but wanted to know the actual law...like worse case scenario.

Worst case scenario? They will try to build a case against him using his own statements to detectives, confiscate his PC and search through for evidence he did make a transaction, WU receipts etc...

I doubt they can get a warrant if he does not speak (if they call or stop by). As for max sentence and stuff, if he stays quiet ---> nothing they can do.

Good point. Deny knowing, but don't make up a huge lie. Your buddy's best bet is to not speak at all.
