How do you like those padres?

I was at the game last night.. dugout seats, 4 rows behind home plate. Tix were 275.00 each.. you get dinner at the resturant for free, all you can drink at the bar and at your seat.. anything you want off the menu at your seat.. the only way to watch a game.

Plus a big win.. rookie pitcher kept them in it... Hoffman comes out for like his 12th save of the season so far.. Padres now tied for 1st in the division.

I just picked up Eaton of waivers.

going to a few NYY Angels games when I am in town. At least 1 Pads game too. I can't imagine how different baseball is in a) the NL and b) the West coast

Baseball is really fun here now for a few reasons..

1) This is the second season of using the new ballpark.. I don't know if you've seen it on TV, but its downtown, right in the heart of all the action. Its an awesome place to watch a game.
2) Padres are doing well, their bats aren't always consistent, but their pitching usually is. They have an intimidating rotation if they can just get someone solid in the #5 spot. Closers and relief are top notch though with Linebrink, Aki, and Hoffman.

AL baseball is cheesy......the DH is garbage.

NL is a rougher game, hustle and grind.

When the Yankees were winning WS they were playing NL style baseball, move runners, manufacture runs......

The NL is a better product.....the pitching is also a bit better due to lack of the DH....Pitchers have to hit, bunt, field their position.
