I say this because I'm pretty sure they've broken new ground on television.

I've never seen a fat kid take a shit in the locker room showers and then step in it.

Lmao.

That scene was fucking beautiful.

Also, I was talking to some fat Jew broad at work today about it, and as usual, she questioned why they didn't kiill anyone. I told here there are 3 types of people who watch Sopranos:

Italians who get it
Italians who don't get it
People who don't get it

Apparently you are one of the ones that doesn't get it.

Watch interviews with David Chase. This show is FILLED with subtle moments and interactions/exchanges that will hit home much clearer with Italians who have grown up in Italian households than it will with many other people. Discounting that basically means you don't believe in culture and cultural differences. There are scenes with Tony and his family that actually scare me b/c they are IDENTICAL to moments I have lived in the past. Is it possible that non-Italians have experienced these same moments? Of course. But there is a connection there for Italians who have lived many of those experiences that will be lost on others.

And I am NOT talking about the mafia-related stuff for the most part, that is NOT what this show is about.

i'm willing to bet peeps like jackangel and myself have a good grasp of the show and we "get it" entirely, though we did not grow up in a italian environment...so does david chase get a pass from you? he's not italian but somehow he is able to direct a show about italian culture.

oops, somebody doesn't know the background on the issues they attempt to debate...

So you believe that you can get the same connection to say, Roots, as an African American????

Sorry bro, that's just ignorant. I'm not discounting anyone and I'm not saying you don't "get" most of the show. But totally ignoring the ridiculously strong Italian American family aspect of the show is just foolish.

gambino, as a complete non italian, just won't understand what you're trying to say. i, however, being from sicily, know what the fuck is up.

also, in another sense: there's only one type of person:

those who think dania ramirez is fucking perfect. jesus christ. so hot.

dude ..you know she is from Hudson county. she lives in West New York. This girl at my job grew up with her . I have never seen her in person though. =(

I hate the sopranos, therefore; I fall under none of those categories

yep....absolutely. I didn't grow up in an italian household but growing up in NJ w/ 80% of my friends being italian was basically just as good... some of their fathers and mothers are so similar it's scary. Some of them were connected, which makes it even more true to life....as far as family structure and behavior.
It's all subtle things....that's why in the tri state area watching the sopranos is like a cult. It hits so close to home in so many aspects. If you're watching from bumblefuck iowa and grew up around WASPs, it loses its affect, big time.

there's a few more sub categories if the type of people who watch teh sopranos, but more or less you're on the nose.

Hesh's lady wasn't killed, she just died. I think Chase is compressing this season a little too much. Could have stretched Tony's gambling problem through three or four episodes. Watch, that kid is going to come back from the Idaho bootcamp, all gung-ho.

WTF, the interaction between AJ and his girl was truncated. Never got the full story as to why she is leaving him. Is it because she thought AJ should be in the biz and making bank? That's the vibe I got but am unsure.
