I am not sure if you are saying that you prefer the 1812 overture (which I tend to dislike for the simple reason that, like everything in the pop genre by Phil Collins, the 1812 overture is overdone in the classical genre) or if you are suggesting that I am mistaken that there is a 1712 overture by Bach, and that I am confusing it with the 1812 overture by P. I. Tchaikovsky.

Yeh sorry , I thought it was a mix - up , I mean that Bach guy u quote (without the first name) - that's presumably a joke (I have heard the cd and didnt think it was much good , even as a joke). I dont think the 1812 is overdone at all - depends on which orchestras you frequent at all of course.
