It's difficult not to make assumptions about people based on what other people say about other people. I did it just the other day, only to find out that I was probably wrong. A lady told me to tell one of my co-workers that he needed to be careful because the rumor was that he was seeing one of the women that worked there and she said he could lose his job over it. I brought it to his attention and he said that he didn't know what she was talking about. He later said that woman had a reputation for spreading lies. I believed him and made the assumption that she was trouble. Well, it turns out that she was telling the truth. His butt got fired for something else and as far as I'm concerned he deserved it and I hope he learned his lesson. ONe of the worst things someone can do is to spread false rumors about someone else. I despise that.

some people seem to think that by bringing others down, makes them look good in the eyes of their peers...its like they have top seceret info thats going to change the world they live in....they dont have green karma points in real life (maybe they should-red ones too-with the occasional bomb)...i with you on this one bro.

Yes and misconstrueing and taking things out of context to make someone look bad is just as wrong. The bible calls out 'bearing false testimony or witness.' I'm talking to myself here as well. Have you ever been so angry at someone that you were guilty of this? Think hard.

The story has been told for a traveler at an airport who went to the snack area and bought a small packet of cookies to eat while she read her newspaper. As she was reading, she heard a noise and was shocked to see a neatly dressed man helping himself to her cookies. Not wanting to make a scene, she didn’t say anything but leaned over and took a cookie herself.

A few minutes passed, and she saw that the man was helping himself to another cookie. Now there was only one cookie left. She was furious but didn’t say anything to the man. Then to her astonishment, the man broke the remaining cookie in two , pushed half across to her, ate the other half, and left.

Still upset with the man, when her flight was announced, the woman opened her purse to get her ticket. To her shock, there was a package of unopened cookies!

How often have we made wrong assumptions about things we see or hear? Have we hurt someone because we made a wrong assumption without finding out all the facts?
Good story.
More like a person getting banned for apparently no reason at all.
There's always a reason.

Darn, I hit "edit" instead of "reply." I really meant this to be a reply. Sorry. --digger
