"Mike" could just be the offenses code word for "the guy that calls the defensive plays" - no huddle offense plays are either the same formation but different version. e.g. Power I but a swing pass to RB instead of dive up middle. There are voice commands for it.

Mike is usually the middle linebacker. Leo is hte left linebacker and Ram is the right linebacker. at least thats how we did it

and yes they know from an audible or sometimes in the huddle before they may say okay we are going to run these 3 plays the next 3 plays
