I was perscribed that + vicodin (las vegas cocktail) I dont think it helps recovery at all , it might even hinder it but I am just talking out of my ass here.

I've seen this question about many muscle relaxers.....

If you take any nonsteroidal anti-inflammation medication (NSAID), they could be working against your goals in the gym. Although NSAIDs can help with muscle and joint pain, they also interfere with the catabolic muscle repairing process. Here’s How: NSAID medications block prostaglandins, stress chemicals that generate muscle stem cells. Also known as satellite cells, these nucleus-only cells combine with muscle cells that were stressed or damaged during your workout to promote repair and adaptation.

Because these satellite cells are so important to protein synthesis and the formation of new muscle tissue, you should use NSAID type medications only when absolutely necessary. Supplements like glucosamine, chondroitin, MSM and fish oil all have anti-inflammatory qualities. So does the olive oil you can buy at any supermarket.

they're prescribed for muscle spasms.do yourself a favor and NEVER take any prior to working out because it will mask pain to a degree and can lead to un needed injuries...post workout it won't help you recover any quicker either.

Remember that cortisol also helps with pain, yet it's catabolic. Inflamation is a signal for the body to repair itself and in the case of weight training, it forces the muscles to get bigger and stronger. Anti inflamatories and relaxers definetely work against your goals.

they dont help with recovery, but they will give you a kickass buzz after a workout when your sore. Just dont take them before working out

I like Soma but they make you very sleepy+buzzed. I like to pop one on the weekends and chase it with a glass of red wine.. Yummy!

the pain is already returning... now I must ask... which is more catabolic... taking the mobic OR limiting the weight/range of motion in my shoulder exercises?

Bro if you NEED the pills for pain I would take them, but if its not a must id drop them.
I'm no expert at all regarding this topic, but I'm pretty sure if you limit the weight/range of motion that it wouldn't make your body use your muscles for energy (catabolic). I believe this mobic would be more catabolic. You should ask ghost hes anti catabolic he knows way more than me.

sopac, that makes sense to me... thx... would like to hear Ghosts opinion also.

Soma also has a little codeine in them. Will make your concentration and focus a little "off". I would try to stay away from them and any other nsaid pills unless absolutely necessary.
