So what's the best champagne?

Like any wine it depends on year and how it is kept. Cristal is very good if you like a buttery champagne. Dom is good very crisp. In the middle would be a Vueve Clicquot. My preference is a 90, 92, or 95 Cristal, then Vueve, then Dom. If your like cigars Cristal goes best with Cristal. Thats not why I like it I just like Buttery Champagne

Veuve 92

Cristal prior to 94

And PJ is an easy choice for common palates.

Cris now is shit and sold to those looking to impress...

There are some small places in Champagne, france that have resevre 90-94 that are flawless. But will put you out at around 4500USD a bottle.

SO for 43 bux at Trader Joes the Vueve does the trick when I host.

And yes, Dom is dry. Too dry for my taste.

DOM PÉRIGNON vintage

Champagne Bollinger

Champagne Krug

Champagne Veuve Clicquot

Champagne Krug

bashfully I say: Andre - spumenti because it's not dry at ALL. Great flavor, undervalued :) ... and I'm not saying that because I can't afford anything pricier ;)

I like cava from Spain. Try Segura Viudas Heredad 67%macabeo 33%parellado. To me blows grand damme away in price/value and plain taste. That Ironhorse is the shit though.

I used to really like Cristal back in the early 90's, but I really have not had it since then. I like Veuve and PJ, but I don't like Dom, at all. It is too, too dry for my taste.

I have tasted alot of Champagne and Dom is by far the best tasting and the best value.
