So what's the best champagne?

Of course Cristal is the big hype and the most expensive

but is it really the best, and is it as much better as it is more expensive?

What's the best bubbles bang for your buck if it may cost money, but should not cost money for the hell of it, like these lowlife rappers like it?

Its like with bentleys... theyre good cars... but more than that theyre fucking expensive. Take a bentley and a lexus of the same quality and luxury and the bentley will cost you twice as much.

For a domestic sparkling try Gloria Ferrera - delicious - and about $20 a bottle! Veuve is good too - $40 a bottle. Call me provencial, but my palate cannot discern the difference between $300 champagne and $40 champagne.

I just bought a sparkling wine from Spain that was an Asti-style that was very good....

I like my champagne/sparkling wines a little on the sweet side.... Dom is too dry for me...

I would say the best champagne is one you like!

always veuve unless we're in vegas... then its the criiissssss.

Dom is my perenial favorite. You cannot go wrong, and is just a better bottle of wine that Crystal...

that having been said, the finest BY FAR domestic bottle of sparkling wine (brut style, i dont do sec or demi sec) is Iron Horse Wedding Cuvee. Fan-fucking-tastic.

Veuve is cool, but it's got to be the Grande Dame or dont go.

I love rose champagne with the right food.... and I suppose if I had to chose one bottle of champagne above all others, hands down it would be Tattinger Compte de Champagne.. wow. A couple bottles of tat and the right gypsie woman and I will have a damn ring out faster than you can say 'risk it'.

;)

My personal fav would be Perrier Jouet followed by Dom P.

For New Years I had a Moet Rose that was pretty good for $40
