So...what would you have done....

Was seated by the hostess at a buffet yeaterday...she also brought my plates, napkins unsweetened tea, etc.

I ate my entire meal while my "waitress" bopped around lazily while not looking my way, offering to get a re-fill, etc.

When I paid the bill, I left her 10 cents on an 8 dollar total.( I also left the hostess a usual gratuity to make a point)

She replied:


"Gee...thanks."


I replied:

"...Is there a problem?"


She replied:

"WHy dont you just not tip at all next time."

"The reason I tipped was because I didnt want you to think that I simply forgot to leave a tip...the reason it was a dime was that I didnt have any nickles or pennies. You did nothing for me during the 45 miutes I was here...so wahy exactly should I have tipped you at all."

...no reply


"I thought so."...and left.

Be nice. I understand why, and you made the point. Did she bring you your food? I always thought 10% is the slap in the face for them. They don't get paid alot anyway. But thats just me.

Yea, make sure you carry a few pennies with you next time to the buffet.

I have to try that, but at the same time make certain that I'm wearing a kevlar vest.

NO....it was a buffet...she did nothing.

I only tip a dollar at some of the buffetts who don't do anything. But like Pondo where they bring your food and have a buffet I do a little better.
