I actually know of one married couple who were struggling big time after about seven years together, accidentally got pregnant, and it DID kind of resolidify them. It gave them a reason to focus on their relationship and fix the problems (rather than either of them actually thinking the baby itself would be the fix), and they are now two kids in and strong as ever.
