I don't have some fancy title or make a shit load of money like some peeps here. I just make all the cardio equipment. I also get some sweet deals on merchandise. I'm only working here until I get my car paid off, then I'm going back to school for Law Enforcement. Maybe they will let me work part-time while going to school.
On a side note, I should be receiving my Sustan 300 in the mail any day now :) . Got to get ready for work now.

Sweet bro! Think you guys can start making quality equipment like you use to in the past? lol

And stop changing ownership every 5 years.

Brunswick bought your ass awhile back for 300+ million. Ever since then you guys have been slipping!
You should see some of the winners working in this place...I bet 8 out of 10 people would fail any random drug or alchohol test. You would think the people working there would be some-what interested in any type of fitness. NOPITY NOPE!

Hey move out the way I asked first ;) jk yeah they are crazy expensive! I wanted to purchase one, but then said screw it and got the treadmill for home instead. Probably made the right choice though because I workout at gym more than home. It would be a wasted 5K sitting around at my house. I probably use my treadmill only once a month here.

oh yeah, those Life Fitness elliptical machines are so awesome they have at the gyms, it's so smooth compared to the elliptical machines I tried at dicks sportinggoods. I'm really trying to actually buy myself one within a few weeks so I don't have to keep going to the gym just to run on the treadmill during the winter

Right now we are in whats called a "black-out" period, where employees are not allowed to buy anything until late Feb. This is the busy time of the year.

All that shit you see at Dicks is from the same factory as the crap in Sears, Joes, WalMart, etc. Comes from Icon Fitness overseas. If Icon makes it, you don't want it. The Ellipticals you most likely want to go try before making your decision are Precor, Octane, Cybex Arc Trainer, SportsArt (only higher end ones), Life Fitness, True PSX, and maybe Star Trac.

what about SOLE ^^^^^ I looked into one that's 1,500 and it's pretty nice?

Middle of the line, nothing that will blow you away. The problem with Sole is they are an "internet" company, so its nearly impossible to go out and try their products locally. And being a internet company they are good at just that, the internet. I'd guess that half the reviews you read are coming from someone that works at Sole or has connections to them. Personally, I'd never buy one because I know it wont last as long as the other guys. If you can find Fitline products locally try those, it will feel similar to Sole.

Sorry for the delay, I actually had to do some work for once. I hate this time of year :(

They sell SOLE at Dicks, i've tried em, they're pretty smooth, but not top knotch like Life Fitness

For about the first 6 months to a year yes, all downhill from there. Its just not built to the same specs and quality as the others. Better than your Pro-Forms, Epic, Welso, NordicTrack, etc though.

We're getting our first Dicks Sporting Goods in this area come summer. They wont survive here, just like Copelands couldn't.

Try to get buddy buddy with someone in the industry. To give you an idea of the mark up on the retail side if a piece of equipment cost the dealer $1500, they'll turn around and sell it for about $2795, and it'll have a MSRP of about $3000. Of course this is after the manufacturer make their profits by selling it to the dealer to start with.

you seriously think if I get a SOLE machine it'll only last up to a year if I use it like 4 times a week? What if I get a 4 year service plan for labor n upgrade parts? Cus I don't feel like droppin 3k on a machine when I can go to a gym for $400 a year. But I want it to last soooooooooooo imma have to look into it some more

I ride a one of your bikes every morning. The military did a big contract with you guys so your equiptment is in pretty much all our gyms. I guess I'll thank you for helping me rehab my knee.

If you use it consistently use it 4 times a week its not going to last as long as you think. The nicer ellipticals usually start around $3000 and go up from there.

The Octane Q35 is the best one I've been on that is under 2k. Octane was started by two guys that left Life Fitness in 2001. Minnesota based business.

They'll also have the home Life Fitness stuff to try. You'll notice a big difference in the home compared to the commercial.

Sorry to burst your bubble bro, but even that $4,199.00 X9i model is still a home elliptical for Life Fitness. Its just modeled after the commercial version. The one in your gym is more expensive.

can you link me to the site that sells the commercial versions? I wanna see what those ones cost

He comes into life fitness once in a while and browses around at the different equipment. The owner of Brunswick also comes around 4 times a year for quarterly meetings. He's a strange fellow. He never wears shoes, and walks around the plant in his socks.

Yeah if you are going to get one then get a good one. You can't get away with a bit cheaper one like you can a treadmill in my opinion.

And while you're there get on the $6,000 Cybex Arc Trainer for shits and giggles. Avoid the home version.

I love the ARC trainers - very tough.....we just got them for our branches in August and they are pretty popular.....

I just bought a Precor elliptical for home....I like the LF ones too....

Congrats on the job!
