So I've met some people that got here with some visa and just decided to stay and work and some are even successfully applying for residency.... me on the other hand, I cant even get my husband here, I have paid quite a bit of cash, filled forms, gotten a job, separated from him for over 4 months... and today when he calls the embassy to check if thee is any status he gets rudely mistreated and is told they cant tell us what they are doing, they dont know when they'll be done, there is nothing we can do and we have to wait.... I am SO ANGRY right now, I'm not some immigrant who jumped the border or stayed on an expired visa I m a DAMN US citizen, how can they treat me like this, I dont know if I should cry or get angry.... I've been thinking of getting an immigration lawyer but I dont even know if that would be helpful and I can imagine it will be incredibly expensive... :( if at least they would give me an ETA but not even that.... angers me how all these illegal fuckers are here and I cant get my husband here....

Sorry about yo Damn Luck

Im angry to the point Im sick to my stomach right now, it hurts quite bad and I feel like I'm gonna lose lunch :(

just keep on asking until you get an answer, either you'll drive them nuts and theyll tell you the eta to shut you up, or youll finally talk to someone who isnt a massive prick. either that or the lawyer option.

There's only one girl that handles that department in the embassy and she is a huge bitch....

I'm sorry Nan, the good thing is you are still in the fight, and you being a US citizen is a huge plus. I can relate, my parent had a hard time getting my brother to into the US during the Marcos Regime.

I would think it helps that you got employment, are a citizen and are married. Sorry Nan.
