So if I go Platinum...

can some one give me some of the benefits of platinum?

Better search function. Ability to make your own website. Access to platinium hardcore as well as other EF sites. 10% off on supplements that EF sells. Ability to use someones quote and then post below it with you own. Any other bros, want to list what I didn't put down?

free secure email, expanded pm storage, live chat

gotta say that while all the things are good the unlimited search function of this knowledge base is priceless

Almost forgot the other benefit of going platinum. By financially supporting something like the board it continues to exist as a resource for us. Obviously sponsors help there as well but why not support it if you can afford it.

Keeping the board going!

I bet the sponsors already keep the board going w/the adv. space they buy. I doubt it costs 35.91 per member per 6 months for membership. If this was a file download site, then yes maybe these costs would be justified. but as a message board with only text and tiny tiny smilies, then no i think it is outrageously priced for what it is. Now dont start on the whole "but your knowledge is worth a lot more than that crap" Im talkin about tangible/real costs associated with running a forum.

And let's not forget full size pics! You can expand the thousands of pics in the member galleries, pics of the pros board, gear pics board, sexy adult boards.

When you go Platinum, you get access to the Elite Fitness Discussion Boards Stealth Web Address! Ever want to screw your boss by surfing the elitefitness.com Discussion Boards at work and not get caught? Want to really screw with him and the company Systems Administrator too? Now it's easy, because Discussion Boards members will be able to access the Elite Fitness Discussion Boards not only from boards.elitefitness.com, but also from the new stealth URL www.ExpertPcSupport.com.

If your boss checks your PC or your office's access logs, all he'll see is that you were getting help with your PC at www.expertpcsupport.com. But you were really surfing the Elite Fitness Discussion Boards using the expertpcsupport.com stealth web address.

Don't forget about Platinum Copy - the ability to copy other member's posts to other forums.

A a 5000 PM mailbox instead of 50.

Each month you get an $11.97 Platinum Discount Coupon for EliteFitnessNutrition.com discount brand-name supplements!

I appreciate your concern, and you're right, setting up a forum is pretty inexpensive.

But the costs add up real quick from the large number of members that come at once, maintaining our servers (there are ten - counting all of the site), updating our software, providing customer service (what other site like Elite has phone support?), and maintaining the archive of millions of posts that goes back to 1996.
