So I went to the eye DR to see how blind I was.

My vision is'nt that great and every time I go to see the Doc, I get all nervous and stuff. I had laser surgery on my eyes about 5 years ago and I still wear glasses (they were very bad) but the glasses are a much lower perscription that the ones I would have to wear without the surgery.

Anyway, today he tells me I may be a candidate for a new laser procedure which can correct my vision even more and get some of the "halos" and "cloudiness" in my vision, out.

I know laser surgery has been discussed here a few times before, just letting you know there's even better technology coming out all the time. I'm gonna talk to the place on Monday. There may be hope for me at last.

Who knows, this "new" procedure could be "old" already but new to this place... But he does seem on top of things, we'll see.

I forgot what the procedure was called. could'nt tell you the name.

I would LOVE to ditch the glasses, or even keep them and be able to see/drive at night.

I've had a couple of friends who have had the procedure done with great results. Get it done, especially if you have insurance and it 's covered.

damn you guys must have some good vision coverage if corrective surgery is covered...

It was'nt covered last time $6000. But the fee was for "Lifetime" of readjustments and procedures... So I asked this guy How about the "lifetime" thing I paid for 5 years ago? He did'nt really have an answer and told me to ask when I got to the place for the pre surgery tests. I will NOT ask about it until they clear me to HAVE it done, because there's a high chance I/my eyes are not capable of another surgery. Cornea size, and other factors which they'll check there.

We'll see. I know Shadow knows of a procedure that's supposed to be good, but I really trust this DR and if there was one out there for me, he would have told me... just like this one.

BTW there's another one that they place an lense UNDER your flap or eye... without cutting or "shaving" the cornea or whatever they do with this procedure and it's supposed to work great, but that's still in the very early stages.

dang id love to have that surgery

I recommend it. Everyone has gresat success with it. I was just VERY bad before I had it. This new procedure is'nt even good for people who were as bad as me but since they've already corrected my eyes past that point, now I could do it, IF... physically my eyes can get it done again.

The cutoff point is -10. I was -16.... to -18 before the first surgery. Now I'm -4 after the surgery. You don't need to know what the numbers mean, (I don't. lol) it's just a big improvement from -18.......to -4, but the haziness etc.. is the issue.

When I first was going to him, I kept waiting for him to tell me I was "Legally Blind". I guess I dodged that bullet. lol

-18? Shit my optometrist cracked up in front of me and made rude comments when I was -9.
But, she was a mean bitch.

I'd have thrown her down the steps. All three flights. So, I'm double as blind as you.
