so I sold my engagement ring

My friend who is a single Mom of two kids was down and out years ago. She had to collect welfare first time in her life and was in horrible shape. She decided to attend a government run program to become a Nurses Aid and within a year was working in a Hospital making $20 an hr to start. She is doing really well now.
Maybe look into some programs in your area to further your career towards higher paying employment. Rock bottom is often the foundation where people rebuild their lives....good luck

Shirlz isnt a single mom. She has a college degree. She has yrs experience as a paramedic among other shir. Her husband makes 6 figs but they have 35 kids to feed and Shurzl has some deadbeat baby daddies to contend with.

She has more kids than that.

I read the first page and last, and seriously, I think you probably have a very healthy relationship with your current bf, and it's strong enough that the ring isn't the biggest part of the picture. I would take from what you said, that he is aware and agrees with the selling of (or taking a loan out on) the ring, and that means a LOT. You and he are putting your integrity and reputations ahead of the ring, and that's a big thing.

I don't know her story but shared my friend's just as an encouragement I guess.
My friend has a college degree, but as we all know, a degree doesn't always offer stability in the work place

Now I'm confused, then why is she selling her ring for food?

exactly what smurf said...deadbeat daddies and a lot of extra mouths to feed

Greg is putting in OT, I attempted 3 jobs and burned out fast...I'm down to two

I am incredibly grateful to those that have helped. I didn't post asking for help nor did I expect it. Let me reiterate, I am INCREDIBLY grateful for the help. The outpouring of help has been nothing short of amazing. This puts me firmly on my feet for this month which will really be a first in like two years now and gets my ring back.
Shit has been tight but not completely unbearable until some shit hit the fan and money that's owed to me will never get paid but I still have to pay out. I'm just up against a wall.

plunkey made me an offer a while ago that I truly hope to be able to accept in the future so I can help myself
digi gave me great advice for the mortgage sitch
nan walked me through some legal bullshit with my oldest kid

everyone has been amazing...Really.

Become a massage therapist. 6 months of training and you will be making money fist over cock.

$120 a day for daycare? That's the most expensive I've ever heard. I live in San Diego and I have a friend in San Francisco, two places where cost of living are very high, and the most around here or there is still less than $2000.

Find someone with a licensed in home daycare like we did. We pay $200 a week for our two year old and that includes diapers and food. Or better yet do what bill said and turn the older kids into babysitters.
