welcome to my world my friend.
out of curiosity, do you have flashbacks. Like you will be sitting there and all of a sudden mildly relive something that happened years ago? thank god i don't do that in public, just start letting out muffled screams & shit.
I'm looking into medications & therapies for OCD right now. I hope they help.
Some of the psych. tactics are thus
1. find anything in the room, and try to remember everything you can about it. If you look at the phone, remember where you bought it, who invented the phone, etc. Supposedly this will help distract you.
2. Reward & punishment for certain thoughts.
3. clapping yoru hands, or saying 'stop' when you have a thought you don't want.
Anyway, those things don't work too well. but i figured i'd post them anyway.
Why don't you try medication like SSRI's? i know you've said before that you don't want to believe your problems are biological, but a biological solution might make your problems more manageable on a cognitive level.
When i was on buspar, my anxiety went down enough so that i could logically talk my way out of anxiety. Like if something that would give me anxiety w/o buspar happened, i would just say 'thats not whats happening' or 'its not that important' and the anxiety wen't down. When i was off it i couldn't control it cognitively.
