Snowboarding or Skiing?

HS Lifter

Which do you prefer and why?

I was primarily a snowboarder(Novice-Intermediate level) but I recently tried Skiing for the hell of it. Its pretty damn fun even though I still suck at it (Only did it for 3 runs). Would really like to do it again.

Now Im not sure which sport I would like to focus on(Skiing or snowboarding).

How about you?

If you have the choice not to choose, dont.

Id never give up either.

Think of the times you are going to be on the slopes in your life. Will you be with friends that board or that ski? its nicer to be doing the same thing, you're more compatible. (F.i. typically boarders like powder and skiers like slopes and boarders like stunting and skiers like trips)

board. i have wakeboarded for 6 years so boarding came very quickly to me. second day ever on a board i hit a 25ft kicker :)

paintball on snowboards.

Whats with all the hating on skiing?

there ARE some advantages really

typically youd get less injuries and fewer falls in general

you are faster (I know boarders will wanna shoot me over this statement but hey get over it. With the same amount of experience, a skier smokes a boarder in a race)

its less straining so you can keep up for a longer time, make big trips through huge resorts and whatnot.

not sure about the injuries bro,or falls,Ive only ever been hurt skiing when ym skis got twisted when I fell,I feel on a board you can go limp and go with the fall

but for straining your dead on,I get worn out after 3-4 hrs

360 iron cross grab off a shotgun rail... thats all i have to say

Hm yeah its sweet but stunts are not unique to boarders. I take youve seen footage of ski stunt comps before... the only burden they have compared to boarders is they cant do pipes as well because they cant go backwards

(though a halfway decent skijumper can land a jump backwards, I havent seen many that can take a new jump backwards. the forward lean required is almost impossible)

they're called twintips... every new school skier owns them

rode for a boardshop for awhile... not worth the industries for some free skate clohtes..

Definitely snowboarding. I skiied for 8 years before I snowboarded. You can get more creative and have greater freedom of movement on a snowboard.

Neither thanks. Ever since I jumped off a ski lift 2 years ago, I've been a bit weary of the whole concept.
