Damn I goto school and Norfolk and live in Herndon (hour outside washington, this is starting to reallly worry me.

That's what I worry about..I have friends in the DC area who have kids in school that are being put on lockdown because of this insanity. They are not allowed to go outside and enjoy themselves on a playground or play a sport. School activities are being cancelled.

2Thick asked in another post why I care. People are living in fear and kids especially are suffering. :( I live a few hours away and now I am changing my daily pattern for sure. Sadly, though, this is how many kids in inner city/gang-infested areas have to live..not knowing when they will be shot next. :(

What about:

If he has a co-conspirator DRIVE the white van to all the places
where he shoots people. He himself drives another car.

If the guy in the white van is stopped, he'll be clean.

ever been on 95? I counted 18 driving down to Norfolk, people see white vans but this guy could be driving something bright pink and no-one would notice.
 
I just hope that he doesn't make it down to the NC area for Thanksgiving since that is where my family will be. hopefully snipers take vacations too.
 
A WHITE VAN WILL BE SPOTTED AT EVERY SHOOTING. PEOPLE HAVE IT IN THEIR MINDS THAT HE IS IN A WHITE VAN SO WHENEVER SOMEONE GETS SHOT, THEY LOOK FOR A WHITE VAN IN THE AREA. NOT THAT HARD TO FIND. THERE ARE 50K OF THEM IN THE DC AREA ALONE.

Kayne, you bring up a good point. I've started to pay attention to white vans, and there are an insane amount of them. Just about every type of handyman uses one so they are all over the place. A see a white van every few seconds on the freeway so these vans the witnesses keep spotting might have nothing to do with the shooting.

Thats a big area for a sniper to take out. What part of NC? I lived in Raleigh for a while.

This guy/s seems to be doing exactly the opposite of what the media says. He probably has never been in a white van.

my mom and her parents live in Cary - it is sort of meshed into the edge of Raleigh

I'm heading down there for Thanksgiving

Wow...I lived in Cary as well. Raleigh is great for a family. The single scene kind of sucks. All the chicks split after graduation it seems.
 
what if he puts "work" style magnets all over the fan... people see "joes greenhouse" and say... eh, its nothing...

it is nice and cheap down there.
I can remembert when Cary was like 30K people - now it is much bigger.
they initially were going on about how they were going to plan it all out... I guess that sort of went out the window and now there is too much traffic than the area was designed for.

yeah - I wouldn't want to live there at my age, but once married it would be a cool area.

Damn, I just got home from King Dominion (Amusement Park) with my cousins. The park is about 15 minutes away from Ashland. I had a hell of a time trying to get out from the traffic because I-95 was closed. Shit, it was like blocking a major artery in the Central Virginia. Though, it was cool. I get to see blue lights flashing everywhere, in the front, back, sideways of my car. I kept hoping they'll pull me over so they can search me and grab a few minutes of fame on T.V. LOL

Well, I hate it now. The bastard is moving near down to me now. It was a neat thing to see it in person, state troopers closing a section of I-95 off, helicopters hoving around overhead. Personally, I thought it was an useless thing to do because there are plenty of back roads down in Ashland. I doubt the sniper was planning to take I-95.

I would hate to see all of that work this evening go down the drain if they didn't catch him yet.

Seriously not that the guy has now shot someone during the week-end. People thought the snipper was following a specific pattern. He isn't. Just like I'm sure he's not even driving a white van. Cause of the media, the white van will now become an Urban legend. Also I bet they're at least 2 guys. one snipper, and at least one spotter..... anyway this is getting ridiculous....
 
Why anyone would fear getting shot when the odds are probably 250,000,000:1 is beyond me. You have a better chance of dying on the way to the gas station or anywhere else in a car wreck.
 
i feel sorry for the kids on halloween in the d.c area. trick or treating is being banned due to the shooting.

Am I the only sane person left standing? Once again..we play into the hands of the bad guys by grossly over reacting.

If I lived in the area, I would toast some time hunting him for the hell of it. Something to do. Sure...I'd get incarcerated for years if I got him but.............

Actually...our best chance may be an armed guy who takes offence to seeing another murder going down. The odds are long though.
