Sniped on Ebay!

How much time do they need?

I figure it takes a few seconds between my confirming the bid and Ebay updating the bid status.

So if I bid with 20 seconds left, it would take a committed sniper to see that and beat it....I would think.

Just wondering about more precise figures.

10 seconds is cutting it fine. I've seen my bid fail to get accepted due to heavy traffic if I waited too long.

IM AN EBAYER MYSELF.. IVE COME ACCROSS THE SAME THING.. PERSONALLY, I THINK ITS BASED ALL ON LUCK. YOU HAVE TO HAVE THE PERFECT TIMING BUT IVE TRIED IT WITH SAME TIME AND ITS ALWAYS DIFFERENT. I AGREE ON THE TRAFFIC PART!

here is my tip to a fellow EF mate, hope you dont try the same shit as me. at 20 or 30 seconds do the bid like you said, but most other people are cheap bidders and will only increase by .50 or a buck or so. So if you like the shit, just go ahead and make at least a 3 to 5 dollar bid for it. you will still only pay the amount the last bidder bid anyways. Shhh dont tell though.

There are programs that can put it in at the last second. Pisses me off.

i think more people than u think know about it.. i did that and paid $7 more..LOL!!

never use round numbers as your final offer. I always do like 79.13 or 97.63

I have won more than my share for 1 or 2 cents difference, when they stopped at the rounded up number.

As for sniping, it depends on your connection, it all gets decided on the last 5 seconds.
