snatch grip deadlifts

should these be done with a mixed grip? i struggled mightily with an overhand grip on these tonite, did them off plates after rack deads and holds.

Absolutely not, don't even try it :) Overhand grip is essential for these and it would be boardering on dangerous otherwise.

Your grip would've been weakened after the racks and holds, but remember this isn't an easy lift on your grip.

yeah, thats what i thought. seems like it might put the bicep on the under side in a dangerous position. this was the first time i did them so maybe that had something to do with it.

I foolishly tried it once and it felt like my bicep was about to be torn off.

Persist with them. It will be worth it.

after the racks i did static holds for fifteen seconds each with over under, under over and a straight overhand grip. this probably wore me out. will need to start with snatch grips next time.

Do you ever see people doing snatches with a mixed grip? So wouldn't it make sense to not use a mixed grip in a "snatch grip" deadlift?
