Problem with the smallville show is that she's not really allowed to show any type of intelligent thought. She always gets put up on a pedestal....very vulnerable for Clark to come to her rescue and save her at the last second.

We're supposed to buy that he's 16? That's just the way the casting of these teenage shows seem to go.

In a Radio/Television/Film class I heard a prof state this was a deliberate strategy
by tv/film execs.
They found that every teen's fantacy is to be 20 something & hot.
It's how they see themselves being one day.
So the way you get teenagers to watch a show is to cast 20somethings in the parts of teenagers.
Strategy was developed back in the 60's/70's beach blanket bingo movies and stuck.

Lana is so much hotter than Chloe! I love the show, but I am a huge fan of Superman. It was great when they brought on Christopher Reeve for an episode.

To answer Crosswords question...no she is not related to Lois. In the first Superman movie there is a girl at Smallville High that is named Lana Lang. She is the cheerleader Clark talks to at football practice.
