Slipped a disk in my back, do I finish?

I slipped a disk, now I cant work out for like 3 weeks. I have 3 weeks left on my cycle. Should I finish it?

Well if you only have three weeks left just finish it out start pct and just eat clean and get alot of rest the entire time. Depending on what ur on three weeks isn't that much.

I could work out, but the doctor said "NO WORKING OUT! OR it will get worse!" So I dont think im going to work out. I cant even put my damn socks on.

Im pretty sure i slipped a disc squatting but im not totally sure. I know i just stopped squatting for a couple weeks, went light and took it easy on other things. Happend to me twice actually and it was everytime i tried squatting over 550lbs and i would roll my back for some reason. If anything i think the gear would help to speed the recovery so me being me i would probably lift through it. But thats just me.

I feel your pain bro. I partially slipped a disk in mine last Tuesday morning. I was lucky enough that I didnt do any serious damage and after being in the bed for 5 days I was able to get back up and around. I did a light workout yesterday, upper body only ofcourse with light military press and was able to make it through with little discomfort.

This is an injury that has plagued me my entire life. I've slipped this same disk about 7 times now.

When I was playing football in college, my sophomore year I began having an OBSCENE amount of back pain. Ive always had constant discomfort, but im a fairly tough SOB so I just push on through it. However my sophomore year it became unbearable and the head trainer for the football program sent me to a back specialist.

He did a round of x-rays and came back and was like "uhhh, id like to do another round if you dont mind"

Come to find out, I was born with an abnormality that less than 1% of the worlds population is born with.

My lowest 4 vertibrae are not normal. My lower two are fused together with no disk inbetween... then I have a disk, and my next 2 verts are fused together also.

That causes a loss in flexibility in that area of my back, and it puts tremendous straign on that one disk that is there between those 4 verts.

So ive injured that son of a bitch more times than I care to recall. Before last week it had been quite a while since I had injured it. Jesus christ I forgot how bad that shit sucks.

Going from being a fully independent and self-sufficient man, to having to have your wife put on your shoes and socks for you because you cant even move, is a really humbling, embarrasing experience. It just flat out sucks.

I wish that shit upon NO MAN.... period.

If you have never injured your back like this, you have absolute NO IDEA the amount of pain and overall discomfort that is associated with this type of injury. It far outweighs any injury I have ever had in terms of "suckage" factor, and unfortunately ive had my experience with injuries heh. Seems my body cant keep up with my heart :p

Goodluck G. I hope you recover well, and soon. :Chef:

Is it actually a slipped disk, has it been confimed with an MRI? If so I wouldnt finish my cycle. I'd give my back the time it needs to heal then and only then would I start working out again. I wouldnt start another cycle till I was absolutely sure my back was 100%.

Damn bro you are screwed (no pun intended). I've never been hurt/injured to the point where I couldnt knock off a piece.
At any rate give it a couple of weeks by then it should be healed enough to at least get a little.... now working out... thats a different story.

Doctors are all overly cautious. Think about it, they have only downside when giving advice....i.e. lawsuit.

I have injured disks in my back and the best and quickest way to rehab them is to find a large swiss ball. Put it on a bench and lay on it stomach down. Then grab the legs of the bench and let your back totally relax and decompress. Then lift up your legs (straighten them out) buy flexing your back, glutes, and hamstrings. Do this for as many reps as you can, concentrating on relaxing the back and feeling the spine decompress at the bottom, when your legs are completely lowered.

Obviously, if this is too painful, then don't do it; but it has worked wonders for me and I'm usually healed up within a few days. This allows blood to enter between the spinal column and into the disk. This is what the disk needs to heal quickly....

This movement is similar to a "reverse hyper" if you have ever seen one.
