I've used a total of 20 IU's ED divded between Humulin R daily and Humalog post work out. I control usage to a maximum of 8-12 weeks. Considering I workout in the evenings, I used the Humulin R in the morning and Humalog in the evenings post workout to enhance nutrient uptake throughout the day.
Personally, I didn't have anyone to help me with the dosage, therefore I started with 1 IU and continued to add 1 IU until I was able to asses my tolerance and balance my diet accordingly. I would recommend doing the same thing as every individuals tolerance will vary. 2 IU's would be a safe start.
I would recommend using the faster acting Humalog post workout. Otherwise, use Humulin R if you are looking for a longer sustained effect.
