Sled Dragging Help

IBench900

New member
I want to start dragging a sled. I have plans to build one from the local home depot but I belong to a commercial gym and I have no weights.

What can I used for weights instead of..well weight?

I live in a residential neighborhood so ideally I would wake up very early and take my sled to the local park to drag it, but I don't know what to use as weights.

Also,

Would pulling my car give a similar effect ? lets say for helping bring my GPP up and strenghten my hips or is this no good.

I have a small little Honda, I imagine it can't be too hard to pull. Really need advice on weights to add to sled though, I'm not going to buy weights, I would rather use something non conventional.

Thanks,
Kobe

An old tire on a rim, maybe different sizes, attached to a rope and tie it to your belt. Do a few timed/or distanced pulls for a few sets a few times weekly.

man i sat here and tried to come up with a way to keep adding resisitance, but i couldn't .what about going to do one of the sports stores and getting a 25,35,45,lb plates? over here thier pretty cheap at the local play it again sports.........

Actually,

Pwr_machine's idea is closest to what I was thinking. Either a leather sack of sand or rocks.

1) Ideally what is a descent weight for pulls and what is a descent distance.

2) Again I'm going for hip strength and mainly want to get my GPP up.

3) Lastly, If I only had a chance to do it once or twice a week, would more (volume) of pulls be better ?

Thanks a ton guys, always a dependable crew here.
