Sitting back while squatting

I've tried and tried to sit back doing squats and box squats. If I totally concentrate and go really slow I can just barely do it with the 45 pound bar. Otherwise my knees pop out front. I can full squat 300 fairly easily with the high bar, knees out style.

I've read and reread the posts and websites that describe how to box squat properly but I'm still having problems.

My question is: What is my weakness, and how can I correct it? Practicing sitting back with the light weights hasn't done anything for me. Is there anything else I can do? Any help would be appreciated - I'm very frustrated

i read this from louis simmons or dave tate and i thought it was brillant..... if you are having trouble sitting back far enough on the squat then set the box higher to where you can sit back properlly, then when form gets better and you feel comfortable sitting back at that height lower the box...... then keep doing that untill you have the box at parallel.

but problems may be your not pushing your knees out far enough on the decent, and spreading the floor with your feet.

Something that Exodus showed me was to practice with a door frame or a pole of some type.

Grab the door frame/pole and lean back with your butt first, keeping your arch. Doing this repeatedly will get your body used to the motion.

Make sense?

If not, I can take a video and post it tonight.
