biteme said:How much is a sim card? Where do I get one? Her's is still in the phone but because she lost service because she couldn't pay for it, it doesn't work.
BrothaBill said:where did you get the cellphone you want to give to her??
biteme said:What do I do? Sell the phone to someone else? Get a new sim card?
biteme said:She sold it to me for 14$. Probably knew she was ripping me off, the bitch. I told her I had a Nokia regular phone. She said all I had to do was take my sim card out and put it in her phone. I imagine she knew it wouldn't fit. Probably the only cards that will fit it are other camera phone cards and this is an older phone.
BrothaBill said:depends on how old it is.
See, in the United States, cell phone companies cell their own phones that are called "LOCKED" so they can only be used with their phone service. So if this Sharp phone you bought was sold by Tmobile, you cant use it with Cingular.
My pocketpc/cellphone I bought from the UK and it was "Unlocked" so that I could just put in a sim card from cingular after I added another line for data and such. They issued me a sim card. The reason why I paid extra was so that when I go overseas, I can take my phone with me since its unlocked.
Starting to think you should just donate it, most people wont buy a phone unless its really good b/c you can get them for 50$ when you sign a new phone contract which you'll have to do anyhow.
Now, if lets say, you had an account already and wanted to pay her bill, and the sim cards matched, you could just add another line and theyll had you the little sim card.
You might be able to sell it to someone if you know someone that wants a phone and has the same carrier that sold the phone.
I have an ATT phone thats cool that my sister had, but its worthless now b/c of nonmatching sim cards, garbage
it all depends on where you got it and how great a phone it is, most likely worth very little
biteme said:It's a t-mobile and mine is t-mobile. Still apparently worthless. I'll just chalk it up as a loss and dare this chick to ever ask me for a favor again. She's a student where I work and also a topless dancer. I should have known better. And I had really felt sorry for her. Not anymore.

You could always stop by a Tmobile store, Im most familiar with cingular and talked to qwest and verizon quite a bit, different than tmobile. My phone works with tmobile and cingular since its unlocked. They may still have sim cards that match it.
Just call up your local tmobile store, give the model number, tell them you want to change phones and see what the options are. You may find a cool salesperson that helps you out. Or just swing by a store, Ive literally lived at the cellphone store trying to get my phones and laptop up and running on the networks
