NEW YORK - After months of haggling, developer Larry Silverstein today accepted a deal for the redevelopment of Ground Zero, allowing the Port Authority to take control of the 1,776-foot Freedom Tower, while Silverstein gets to build three other office buildings at the site.

Silverstein announced his decision outside his rebuilt World Trade Center 7, accepting the basic tenents of a proposal given to him last week by officials with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. The revised deal came together after negotiations broke off in mid-March.

Port Authority officials expressed confidence they could approve the deal at a board meeting tomorrow.
