...and you seem to post on them so answer ME this....who is more of a fool?? The fool or the man who follows him??

thats a tough one man..i cant imagine living without being able to listen to music, and i could not imagine living without seeing. But if i had to choose, id loose the hearing.

Would rather see..

I am a big lover of music but as far as quality of life sight is much more important I think.

I could still move freely, surf etc.

having your sight taken away at this age would be very difficult.

I wouldn't even want to imagine not being able to look deeply into the eyes of the woman I love. How could I fathom not being able to see the face of my first born? I can't even begin to think how it would be never to witness my children and wife grow old with me. I just couldn't handle it.

Sight is precious.

sight easily

your everyday life would change dramatically if you were blind, your ability to function dramatically reduced

hearing would be less so

Sight...

I believe it's something like over 80% of your infomation comes in via your eyes.
The other senses are just frosting..

There are times when I'm in a real noisy environment when I would just love to turn the ears off.

I've often thought of this. Why? Who knows.

I would choose sight no matter what despite the fact that I would start talking funny.

As Ranger said there is so much beauty in the world that I wouldn't want to miss.

Also, I could still play golf. I could still watch sports. I could still beat off to Starfish's avatar.

Everyone would think that the loss of sight would be harder to adjust to, but in college I remember seeing a study that the loss of hearing was harder. If I remember correctly, it had to do with the fact that not only could you not hear others, you couldn't hear yourself. They said that people that lost their sight bounced back quicker than those who lost their hearing.

Personally, I couldn't imagine losing either one.:(

Hearing is more important to me.
I lost my vision for a couple weeks after a fire, and I know I can manage without sight.

Plus, with no sight I don't have to worry about beer goggles.

That's my understanding as well. Something to do with those who lost hearing suffering a great deal more depression because of the loss of verbal communication/affirmation.

...sort of why I posted this....my kneejerk reaction would be to keep sight...but then if you think about it...I dunno - it sort of evens out
