Gear is intended for intramuscualar injection, not intravenous... therefore, no, it will not "end up where it's supposed to anyways."
From what I've gathered, if you make it thru the initial sides of accidental injection into a vessel (as Mustang mentioned: rapid heart beat, quick changes in body temp, increased persperation(sweating) , etc...) then you are in the clear as I believe it will pass thru your system (therefore, a waste)...
However, I am not 100% sure, so take that as you will.
