If your neck glands are swollen and your chest feels tight but your not caughing and your not stuffy.. but are a little weak

Face is a little drawn and pale too

What's this the symptom of? :(

death. :(

ok, really... if your glands are swollen, i'd go see a doc. it could easily be the start of a cold or flu, but better be safe.

common things happening commonly, excluding strange exotic illnesses or two separate illnesses at the same time,

neck lymph nodes swollen = infection
chest tight = very sticky phlegm or airways disease exascerbation (ie mild infection pissing your asthma off or something)
general weakness = secondary or tertiary to infection usually
drawn/pale = dehydration/poor eating usually, but may be blood pressure also

youre probably in the early stages of some sort of respiratory infection. keep your fluids up, eat well, rest a bit more than usual, and monitor for the next 24-36 hours, when youre either going to have onset of more defined symptoms or itll pass

a couple Qs:

when did it start?
what was it like when it started?
hows your eating/drinking?
temperature?
any itchiness?
any stress/lack of sleep lately?
any new drugs lately?
been around anyone with bird flu lately? (kidding ;) )
(no im not...have you? ;) )

eh relax, getting the bug that causes pnuemonia doesnt neccessarily mean that itll manifest as pnuemonia. most people get that same bug and its a simple mild chest infection and then it goes away. if youre immunocompromised/old/shit diet/unhealthy bla bla bla its a different story.

anyway, like i said - more fluids, more food, more sleep, heat your home a little if possible particularly at night when sleeping, dont go from very warm to very cold areas quickly (best to avoid very cold areas in general), avoid drugs that will take your temperature down too much (paracetamol/acetominophen/aspirin/ibuprofen etc) unless youre very uncomfortable and its interfering with your sleep, and if possible try to get the very sticky phlegm out of your chest (if its there) via steam inhalation (ie hot shower, breathe deeply) or via drugs from your local pharmacy (guaphenesin to help clear the chest, or any other expectorant). warm drinks that do not contain caffiene (otherwise dehydration risk) will help by soothing your throat as well as increasing temperature/bloodflow in the chest/throat, improving immune response and hindering infections reproduction if bacterial in nature.

thatll be $25 or many, many karmas, you pick ;)

those symptoms in that timeframe in a patient of this health risk status plus the premise of common things happening commonly, a standard URTI plan for a couple of days and follow up is ample

minus 3 VBs for you!

Just last month I had the same. Here's how mine progressed:

Tues
super swollen glands, fever, severe pain all over such as with flu

Wed - Fri
(Same as above)

Sat a.m.
woke up and the shit decided to sink into my chest, still swollen glads, very tight chest with difficulty breathing, not much congestion, sleeping upright

Sun - Mon (Same)

Tues - couldn't take it anymore, chest tighter each day, went to doc in the a.m., got milder antibiotic (didn't want the kickass shit because I at least wanted to build up some antibodies of my own and be able to fight off that damn avian turd bird flu when it comes around...)

My non-medical advice? --- don't wait 1 entire week like QSis did...you'll be miserable. :worried:

Bukakke!

j/k girl...maybe just a virus.

sounds like the flu to me...no big deal, just drink plenty of fluids, fight fever w/ ibuprofen, and take your vitamin c.

I didn't work out for the 3 wks. Weak & difficulting breathing at times. Headaches, sinus & upperback through neck to back of head. No vomiting or D*****, but some nausea, fever, chills, general aches.
I had my first workout 3 nights ago, dropped my weights 20% & I still failed on my last bench set. Had to drop them even more.
I still went to work except for 2 days. Wanted to pass it around. Was at my sickest on the weakends.
