I said to myself I was not going to make a thread about this but I can't believe I am the only one that finds this shit so annoying...

It goes like this:

You open a thread about, say, "When was the last time you ate fast food"... not 5 min go by, and some mofo types:

"Hell, yeah, last night I was in my 10 room mansion, chilling in my 40 sq feet jacuzzi when I felt the cravings hitting me... being the rich guy I am, I just called the butler to get me some fine-ass clothes... so I went to the Garage, and damn is life difficult, I had to choose: should I drive the Ferrari, the Beemer, the Benz, the Hummer or any of my 10 custom bikes???...anyway, yeah, it was last night I had fast food, but with my 250L US$/Year salary, it won't make a problem..."

Now, that per se, wouldn't be too much of a problem, I can always shrug it off as somebody just writing shit, but it gets boring when you see the same people doing it OVER AND OVER again... makes you wonder.

Then the worst of them all are those who when disagree on a post, try to use their money as backup: "I made more money last year as you in 2 lifetimes, now STFU" I am like What??? People, this is the Internet, best case scenario, we don't give a fuck, worse case scenario, some people will stalk your ass and rob you for being so stupid...

You will not gain "respect" here the same way you will "gain" it in the real world, you cannot woo people into submission with your money... It's so stupid.

wow! who's the worst culprit at this? I make a decent living (100+K) but let me tell you by the time i pay $1500 child support and about 50% for taxes that shit doesn't go to far.

Does it really matter what you make though? I mean good or bad, low or high? I can honestly say that i like my poor friends better, than the rich fucks i work with

Shit, I make ~$60K a year now, I drive a 2000 Buick Century missing a grille (someone stole it), I have a crotch rocket, I live in a duplex, I pay an assload of child support every month, and I have more college and credit card debt than most of you make in a year. Thank god I started my own business and I am finally making some bank now. Once the business starts rolling I hope to pay off my debts and maybe upgrade to a 2004 Buick. That would be living the good life for me.

I'm anti-debt :) I still drive my '98 Ford Mustang and live in an apartment with my roomate. However, this is what I SHOULD be doing since I barely make over $50k, (the lowest salary on EF).

that's the only way to go. i'm only so passionate about it because i spent the better part of my 20's trying to keep up with everyone through my checkbook. Looking back now it's kind of funny, but then you think to yourself all the stuff you could have saved.

And as sad as sounds, yes. A lot of people live their lives pretending to be who they are not... I read sometime ago a post about "poor people, living in very poor areas, with a brand new SUV parked in the front"

Makes you wonder how do they pay for gas???

Maing, you wouldn't believe how close to bankruptcy some of my neighbors are. I do pretty well but live within my means, learned a ton about savings when I got divorced bitch. The guy living next to me has a Cayenne S, his wife has a Navigator, and they also have a Z4. He jusy bought a new boat that I looked up and cost him $65K, a Malibu Wakesetter. Their home is full of Pottery Barn shit, wife doesn't work, and they have 3 kids. I did the loan that got him his house, he doesn't make that much. Just guessing what his minimum payments per month are... probably $7,500. No shit. He put a decent amount down on his home, so when that bitch is in foreclosure and he agrees to a short sale, it's mine. :evil:

No shit man. I used to live in a pretty ghetto area of town. This one street was full of run down duplexes. They were all owned by the same guy and he rented them out to low income peeps. Every other driveway had an Escalade or a pimped out suburban or some shit like that parked in the driveway. The funny thing is, none of the places had garages, so they all put up those portable garage/tent things. Lots of drugs running through that neighborhood.

Working only to make money instead of trying to accomplish something and be happy in my career. All it cost me was my wife, social life, and I have a shitload of debt that I accrued to make what I have. It'll probably take me five years to be able to live comfortably again. Worth it? Not so far. :(

i don't notice this hardly at all..the only guys here who are loaded (MTS, etc) seem to be pretty cool and modest about it
