Shoulder rehab...need input

I shot you a reply over there.

I've had an acromioplasty about a month ago for my bursitis problem which prevented me not lifting for nearly 6 months. I've had a hooked type of acromion bone in my left shoulder which was causing inflammation of bursa triggered after a fall,I guess.
I've tried everything and forced to have the surgery as none of other methods worked. It was a arthroscopy where they made 3 holes and shaved the tip of the acromion bone. First week was terrible and had to wear the sling. But with physical therapy, exersizes, drugs and ice. I was able to move my arm around %70 after first week. I continued the physical therapy for another 2 weeks and now my shoulder is %95. I have some pain only at exterme and sudden movements and that's all. The doctor told me that I can start lifting again LIGHTLY in about 2-3 weeks. I am sure that pressing movements will not be very easy, but I can feel that if I go very carefull with the weights and do not rush, I think I'll be OK. But I really took care of my shoulder after the surgery, did exactly whatever they told me. The most important thing is that you should gradually start flexing and strenghtening your shoulder right after your surgery and apply ice 3-4 times/day

As for your case, you should have been OK after 9 weeks. But if you tried to bench press with the weights before your injury, then you made a big mistake. You should have started with an empty bar. Or maybe you just started without strenghtening your shoulder properly. Did you do all your stupid looking shoulder exersizes post surgey? The key is to take your time and slowly increase the intensity of your training. You might have re-injured yourself again. Put some ice for a few days and see if the pain is gone or not. If so start again very slowly and carefully. If the pain is there you should visit your doctor again. There is also a chance that your surgery was not very successful which is not rare in shoulder surgeries.

I hope this helps and you'll be OK soon

I went considerably lighter. I have not much more pain today then I has prior to last night...which tells me I really didn't re-injure it. I have been slowly trying to strenghten my shoulder over the last few weeks and have noticed that it is feeling better with each week. Maybe I am just expecting a little too much too fast.

I also wonder if ART can still be a possibility???
