Should Women Carry Guns for Safety?

biteme's thread made me think of this, but I was having this discussion the other day with a couple friends.....

whatcha think? would you feel better if your girlfriend or wife had a gun w/her or in her house or would that actually strike a very very horrible fear in you.... :)
 
I can't agree with juicedpigtails more. Girls are too emotionally unbalanced to pack heat. I bet if a chick that's packing sees a chick that's hotter than her, she'd shoot the bitch. I dont even wanna think about that special time of the month when they all turn into evil banshees. The homicide rate is high enough

anyway, i personally could never see myself shooting one, but it's been suggested to me before.....there are a lot of sickos out there but maybe i should stick w/mase
 
Trust me dude(tte), theres times when people will make so you so "seeing red" angry that you want to kill them and if you did have a gun, you WOULD DEFINITELY shoot them. That's why most people shouldn't or don't have guns. People are creatures of instinct and emotion and either of those two can shadow all the rational thoughts we have if pushed too far.
 
The only people who should carry a gun are those who are ready to point it at someone and take another person's life. There is none of this shooting to wound, or pulling a gun to scare. If you pull a gun you better be ready to use it, because if you're not, the other person might take it from you and use it on you.
 
you don't have to hold a gun to my head.......all you have to do is ask.

Now moving away from the cheesy lines, shit no.......chicks are dangerous enough with a credit card.

yeah, i know i could never actually own one. my dad has a rifle upstairs and every once and a while he brings it out to clean and it freaks me out.....the power behind it is too much for me, the idea that you could take someone else's life :worried:

i had a situation where the spring semester of my sophomore year i was jogging in a well lit park by my house....2 younger guys in a black mustang watched me jog and then tried to get me to get in the car w/them, i refused and they started to get violent w/their words....i just kept walking and they drove really slowly beside me, finally i took off running as fast as i could across the street to a house where a man was working in his yard, he was at least a block from my house at the time and i didn't know him, but i told him the situation and he walked me to my house. stuff like that just makes me mad
 
I think carrying a gun would be extreme. Tasers, on the other hand, would be enough I think. Every woman should have one of those, especially if they are alone somewhere. Some dude making advances on you and you don't like it? :fryhim: Since women are less rational(or perhaps over-rational?) than men, letting them carry guns would be interesting, to say the least, if your governmental leader is sadistic.
And the same goes for women being president. I would be weary of any women having that much power.

Here's what I think is the bottom line:

Men start wars over sex (no, not money, or power, because a guy wouldn't need money or power if it didn't boil down to attracting women).

Women? They would start wars over everything else. :)

Take a really good self defense course. A good one will show you how to use everyday items for self defense. The main thing with self defense is to get separation from the attacker.

If you think about it, you have any number of weapons at your disposal You can use your keys to punch or rake across the eyes. If you are at home any spray can will do, just spray it in their eyes. If someone has already grabbed you, a well placed heel into their instep, if you have on hard sole shoes, or a strong kick to the inside of their knee will slow them down. The best defense is to be aware of where you are.
 
Tb, I think for you a glock 17 with a couple of pre-ban mags would be a cood choice. For ammo go with Cor-bon 115 gr jhp+p

I would, if I worked at a job that I was out late.

Or I had to walk in a parking garage or down a street that
was dark and I felt unsafe.
