Should police have a minimum age and education requirement?

its all economics nature boy...

the pay stinks, the college educated or industrious move
on to higher education or superior pay in insurance
claims or related fields to law enforcement...

not all, but a lot do...

biolab made a good point about the group mentality...

but that is a result of the all the forces against the
police versus watching out for the guy that watches
your back...

the real problem with law enforcement is that people
dont want to be safe...they dont want to pay for it, they
dont want to be inconvienced by it...

so they vote to keep salaries low, they vote in these shithead liberals that put in judges that hold it constitutionally protected
to stand on a street corner at 3 a.m. and interact with every car that stops and donates $ 20...

yet shows like "the shield" are so popular where the officers
keep breaking rules and laws fighting the impediments to catching and jailing the shit ...

i really feel that cops should quit pushing the barriers...

they should give the majority what they keep voting
for by electing these potato head liberals...

dont want a ticket??? ok, we wont give you one...

youre gonna fight us??? ok we wont arrest you...

wanna sell crack next to the school??? well, we cant search ya...

the resulting anarchy will be the slap in the face that
the silent majority needs...

That's certainly not a median income nationwide, at least in the US.

That's about average in canada

Well, for purposes of this post, the starting salery median would be more appropriate. Right ?

About $30K in Central Florida

so you're saying age and or education levels wouldnt help at all??? nonsense.

Lawyers are well educated and generally above the age of 25, do they all act in the best interest of morality and public interest?

he's got ya there nature boy...

bwood says he's an ex-cop but I say he just used to wear the policeman uniform in gay 70's discoporn movies

Average police salary on long Island is approx $80,000 per year NO OVERTIME.

You get the same police work as you do for $41K in Jacksonville: shitty, annoying, harassing poor people, handing out tickets.

The talk of liberal judges is extraneous. These would be public sector unions, (as are teacher unions) which even FDR derinded as "too liberal" for the public good.

A public sector union is the classic socialist setup: top down solutions only, across the board implementations only. This reflects on police like on teachers: pay scales based on seniority not merit, difficulty removing bad apples, etc.

There is limited economic determinism with police. Salaries are not great, but not bad either. (Average US salary for a man all professions is $36K).

Those who stay are as likely to self select for the job for economic reasons as they are for the others: fraternity, camaraderie, not getting tickets, small penis syndrome etc.

The solution is less policing, not more. We've already crossed the threshold of maximizing the return on our tax investment.

good point, but it is the duty of lawyers to act in the best interest of the public? or their clients?
