Should i use knee wraps and how long ?

Hey guys,

im using rippetoe 3x5 and box squatting. About 6 months ago i fucked up my knees with veeery bad form, joint issue and such. I went with 5x5 advanced with no lifting history. =D Dont laugh please

Anyway im using knee wraps and wondered should or shouldn't i use them ? My knees are getting better, alot better. Will my knees get stronger with them or they'll be my weak points later on ?

If you need the knee wraps, use them. I would not be forcing myself to HAVE to have really tight knee wraps all the time though but if you feel that you can train and have them on, then do what you need to do. Try to slowly get away from them if you can. One way to do this is to make sure that you are REALLY warmed up (bicycle, leg exts, leg curls, stretching, warm creams, etc…) before you ever do anything on a squat.

Progress is progress and it sounds as if your knees are getting better with them…in time you will be able to go without them except when really needed. Sounds like you have the right attitude and are working in the right directionj.
