My dad is very athetic. He works out 3 times week, full body. He turned 50 today. Anyway he played baseball in college. He was sliding into second and decided to do a "stand-up slide" because of a overthrown ball. He tore his knee up doing this. The procedure back then was to remove cartilage from the knee. Now he has bone rubbing on bone.

Its about 30 years later and he wears a knee brace called the "loader" it is piece of fuckin metal that helpskeep the weight of the bad knee. Hisight leg is really in bad shape. He has thought about getting the gel injected to his knee that acts like cartilage. He cant do any cardio. He walks around with a 1,000$ knee brace everyday in pain.

I was on a Docotr program called UpTo Date and read ox is used in AIDS patients to help with muscle loss.

I think ox would help him greatly.

What do i do?

its tought seeing the same person i would play ball with when i was kid in so much pain. This is a tought subject to approach.

I was thinking Ox because its a tab and i dont think he would be happy if i asked him to inject. He is "old school" so i hope he doesnt kick my ass. Im just going to tell him to ask his doc. about it. That way its in a person hands that is trained for this.

Yes test and HGH will help with the overall conditioning and shape of the body and internal organs, but they will not fix the mechanical damage from the lack of cartilage. Your dad's only option for THAT is surgery. Either have cadaver cartilage placed in the knee of some other material. Or have an artificial knee. But that is it. Now HGH would be extremly beneficial after the surgery and speed recovery of tendons and ligaments.

Artifical knees last at most ten years. So he has a few more years ahead of him. He wants to get the gel cartilage but havent approved it yet.

Deca or HGH might do him some good, but he should look into the synvisic stuff (I know I spelled it wrong). That gel may work wonders. I don't see how Anavar is going to help him.

I can't imagine a scenario of discussing AS with him that wouldn't get you into some hot water.

Maybe you want to contact Dr. R. Scruggs in L.A. He is open minded about prescribing AS. I read an interview saying everybody getting surgery should get AS, since it speeds and enhances healing.

oh, i was just saying cause certain countries are more anti drug while others are more pro-drug....a lot of it is environment related. in the US anything goes....But before you reccomend anything get a feel about what your dad thinks about drug usage in general. If he's always condemning every and all drugs and refuses to take aspirin for a headache he will probably not be open to the idea. But if he has no problem with things and used to get drunk/smoke pot etc.. as a kid then he might be willing to accept the use of steorids more

If you want to contact Dr. Scruggs, some of the guys on Anabolic Fitness get script from him, ulter talks to him all the time.

Also, there is an interview of him in the back issues on Anabolic Extreme.

i encouraged my father to have his free test, LH, FSH and a whole blood spectrum done. he qualified for androgen therapy and opted for androgel as he is not as needle friendly as his son...heh!!!

needless to say......his mood and general disposition have positively changed for the better and he feels great.

men go through what is reffered to as andropause much like women experience menopause..........few doctors take this concept seriously though

If you get him on the Test. Bad knee or not. Tell Momma to look out. Keep an eye on the cat and don't bend over in front of him. Haha. j/k

I think if he's experiencing enuff pain he'll be pretty open to anything that helps. Best wishes for yer ol' man.
