Should I Abandon My Hometown?

My hometown has gone to hell. It's a hillbilly town that's been invaded by gangs from Detroit. There's so much crack and meth being sold it's pathetic. There are streetwalking hookers and gang bangers everywhere. We used to have 2 or 3 murders a year. Now we have 15-20. The apartment that I lived in for 4 years had a big gun fight on Friday. I'm glad I moved out of there 3 years ago. Just 2 weeks ago, two blocks from where I now live, a guy was murdered in an argument over someone stealing a music CD. The appearance of the city is awful. People litter everywhere. There's graffitti, housing slums, abandonded homes, etc.

I could probably transfer to Grand Forks, ND or Kennewick, WA. Is anyone familiar with either of these cities? I'm looking for a place that is small, clean, modern, and friendly.
 
I know first hand that Kennewick fits that criteria.

I'm sorry that the gangsters fucked up my town too. Apparently crack sells for more money here than in Detroit because there are fewer dealers. Our laws also make it easy to buy guns. Sometimes they trade their drugs for guns. If stricter gun laws alone would get rid of these bastards, I would gladly go through a bureaucratic nightmare in order to buy a weapon. Sadly, that in itself won't get rid of them.

The only thing keeping me here is that this is where my parents live. I'm on the Eastern side of the country so Kennewick is a long way from here. I need to do some serious thinking. It's really upsetting to turn on the NEWS and see your old home surrounded by yellow police tape with ambulances and cops everywhere and blood splatters on the sidewalk.

My company has a big office in Kennewick. It's also a newer office with fewer veteran employees. I could probably go to Kennewick with a promotion.

My mother lives in Kennewick. Quiet place, too small for me.

Guys I'm not anywhere close to Michigan. The gangs from Detroit are migrating to Southern states where they can sell their crack for twice as much money. I'd rather not say exactly where I'm from to keep some anonymity, but let's just say I'm close to VA and NC. The gangs send their guys down here with the crack and sell it. Then they go back to Detroit and pick up another load. Usually the first thing they do when they get here is steal a car. Then they make their deals and head back to Detroit.

Part of me thinks we should just legalize crack and everything else. Maybe we could set up drug bars out in the middle of nowhere and let these people do whatever they do with impunity. Maybe that would keep them away from me.

I'm no angel myself. I've had problems with pain pill addiction. I got started by a doctor prescribing me hydrocodone after surgery. However I've never even considered killing anyone over pain pills and I'm currently in a treatment program and I've improved but I'm still not 100% cured but at least I'm trying. I don't buy from street dealers either. I've always managed to get a prescription.

Kennewick was a small town when I visited 15 years ago. Can't imagine what line of work would enable you to transfer there. Not my biz though. I imagine there's plenty of migrant workers passing through that region (Tri-Cities area of WA).
How about Vegas? A great place for those without vice's. A really bad place for those who do.

should of though about that before posting new locations you will be transferring to!!!!now we can cross reference all the business that have offices in them community back to the mid southern states....looks like we have you now.... my family is part of the crack crew running your town :chomp:
