Should Guberment help fight Obesity?

I can't wait until the government has TOTAL CONTROL of our daily lives. Just wait...

People fight for less government, but yet look at what they've been driven to.

Pathetic.

WTF?

"In a Louisiana experiment, the state will pay for a few government employees' gastric bypass surgery — or stomach stapling — to see if it reduces health care costs."

Why not? Louisiana pays for every other fucked up demand that one can fathom. My home state is a joke.

This is no different than San Francisco using tax payer money to pay for city employee sex change operations.

Your money is really the people's money, don't you forget it.

WTF? And I thought that Canada was bad....

LOL!!!

Its a matter of cost / benefit. Yes the fundamental underlying premis is bullshit, but the situtaion existing as is probably warrants the bypass surgery in the hopes of saving money down the line.

The whole idea is bullshit. I stated this many times before, the rights of individuals are not based on cost/benefit analyses. Simply because someone can show us that something can or may reduce costs does not grant government the authority to lay claim to the people's earnings for said cause.

This New Deal positivistic bullshit is viral, it does not stop once it has been initiated. Once people realize that they too can have their hand in the cookie jar, one only has to make a decent case to present to the powers that be to have money handed to them. All of the tried socialistic health programs, in the states, are overbudget, due to excessive demands, with only higher projected costs in the future.

And if you really believe that government has any interest in keeping costs down, I got some Rolex's to sell you real cheap.

here in my city(I have no idea if this is a national thing) the schools are weighing all the kids and putting their weight on their report card. if the BMI is too high the parents are being "counsiled" and held responcible for the kid losing weight. A friend of mine told me this. She has 7yr old twins that weigh 100lbs. I don't know if this is such a bad thing. I just think its ashamed that parents don't take responcibility on their own.

I like the Idea of kids weight being put on their report card. And if they're too fat they should get an "F" for fat.
