Shot infection....need some help.

Need some help

I did my first injection the other day, testosterone enanthate 250mg EW (first cycle).

The thigh injection went great, no pain and I was VERY sanitary. I've been trained on how to properly inject, so I don't think this is a problem of needle infection.

It's been 4 days not since I've injected and I woke up today with a severe cramp and knot in my thigh, I also feel like I have the flu. There's a noticeable lump and it looks a little red under the skin where the knot is. (The knot is the size of my hand). There is nothing at all around the pin insertion point. It is also VERY warm feeling around the lump....

My friend is doing the same test and he's one week ahead of me. He woke up with the exact same symptoms on day 4 as well. He took some antibiotics he had on hand, and he was back to normal the next day.

Could this be test flu? Bad gear? All of the above? I keep reading conflicting things on my research. Some people say it's no big deal and others are saying go to the emergency room.

Here is a picture of the gear, I think it's IP. http://www.elitefitness.com/forum/g...ate-563513.html

My temperature and blood pressure are fine.

you're going to get conflicting opinions here too. Sounds like dirty gear because of the same symptoms of your friend. if he took antibiotics one day they didnt solve the problem, not enough time to get in his system. rule of thumb usually is to go to the Doc if you feel heat. since it is the first day of that I would try ome hard messaging or compression. I use an idea I got from here, jnevin I think. Lie on your side on the floor with the lump side down and put a ball or oval shaped hard object between the site and floor. I use an oval shaped container about 1 1/2 thick. You can put a lot of pressure against the site and move against it to try and message it out some. If that doesnt work and it last more than two days, go to the Doc pronto. Most will say go now I'm sure. Which is not a bad idea either.

if its on your skin the infection go get some doxycycline

Just seems like it's underneath the skin.

I do have an antibiotic called Cefuroxime Axetil I might try.

I just read a lab report on IP's gear. Great results! Next to no coliform bacteria, just a lot of benzyl alcohol . {someone suggested IP is probably to blame}.

If it is red and the size of your hand go and get it checked out. Ceftin is good for most staph infections. Do you have a full dose? by dose I mean how ever many days the MD says you need to take it?

Dont self medicate unless you know what dose to give and for how long. Go and seea DOC. I m not flaming you but you would be a dumb ass, if it is the size you say it is and feels the way you say it does, and not go and seek help

same thing has happened to me and i stand by it being dirty gear consideringit was twice in a row with the same bottle. go to the doc you need iv antibiotics. chances are they will call it cellulitis and iv you up bro.

Thanks for everyone's advice.

When I went to bed last night I iced the knot and took a motrin. When I woke up this morning I felt perfectly normal and the knot is gone.

Some suggested it's the high BA content in the IP gear. If it flares back up then I'll definitely go see the doctor.

i did notice you mentioning that you did not have a fever. usually when you have a bad inject it means- lump, red and hot to the touch with a fever. go to the doc when this happens and tell him that you bumped into park bench with a nail sticking out of it unless you have a cool doc like i do. glad you are fine.

same thing here, iv then oral anti's for a week. i never did run a fever though. for what i went through and you find out it is the gear...chunk it. i have seen a guy do that though and it wasnt the infection i dont think. he lumped and got hot like that quiet often unless he messaged it really goo. it was like the gear didnt want to disperse.

yeah theres a difference between an infection and gear not discipating. but i dont take chances, especially when you could lose your bi, tri, quad or wherever you injected

You dont always get a fever with an abscess. You cannot go by its not an abscess because i dont have a fever.

it could be in the early stages of infection.

true, but i did say "usually". the way a body reacts can be a complex thing....i had huge lump on my ass (size of a baseball) from a cc shot of deca and it was red and hot to the touch but no fever...it just went away in 4 days.

you got lucky bro..... me on the other hand, i dont take chances with my body...... thats just my opinion and ill say this again. opinions are like assholes, everyones got one

p.s. whats up ernn???

I just had the same issue. I went to the er after the second day that I couldn't walk and they said if I would have waited any longer I wouldn't have a leg right now. Don't mess with that shit beleive me. They gave me IV meds and some take home antibiotics and it was gone in less than a week.

so simple if action is taken....so costly if you don't. kind of a no-brainer once it hits a certain point.

Did they send you home or admit you?

if they sent you home then never go back to that ER again. If your infection was soooo bad that you could have lost your leg after the second day not able to walk, as they told you and they sent you home they are either quacks or full of shit. not flaming oyu just flaming the ER you went to.

they kept me two nights. i don't know about him, but they were taking precautions for DVT.

DVT with an abscess?

cellulitus they said. no telling. they might have been over precautious because of the "location" I am in. can't exactly ease back to the Dr. the next morning. i dunno man, just what they said.

Sounds like cellulitis to me, an abcess would be much smaller in size.

I had this before and was prescribed Bactrim DS which cleared it right up.
