Short cycle training??

StickFigure

New member
Currently, until my gear arrives, my training looks like this:

Mon-Chest/Tri's
Tue-Back/Bi's
Wed-OFF
Thur-Shoulders/Traps
Fri-Legs
Sat-Sun-Off

Doing 3-4 exercises each body part
4 sets/10-15 reps
Not going to failure (but damn close)
No forced reps

Can anyone give me some feedback on whether I should change my routine when I start my first cycle and if so maybe some suggestions or other thread leads that discuss this topic? :newbie:

If you're not going to failure or doing any forced reps then there's little need for the body to adapt to the stress (by growing or gettingstronger).

I do a very similar routine. I haven't forced a rep in years, by this I mean needing a spotter to finish the last rep. I have this thing about people touching the bar, I have to finish the rep myself.
When you go on up the intensity, increase the bar speed, the weight, change some movements, lower the time between sets. Just plain work out harder. Your total volume is fine IMO.

Before I get heat for this, when I say increase the bar speed I don't mean throw the weight up like a retard. Just be more explosive, it's a powerlifter thing, you bbers wouldn't understand.

Thanks for the feedback!!

genarr3, I know what you mean about people touching the bar but it also seems to give me a blast of energy when someone reaches for it  But if they don't listen when I scream "Don't touch the bar!!" it makes me feel like this :chainsaw:
