Shooting in 7 corners area

i just heard on the radio there was a shooting in 7 corners ( northern va) which is like 2 mins down the street from me, that could be related to sniper, i'll keep you updated
 
fuck dude 7 corners...way to close, someone needs to hunt his ass
 
no shit... we hook up some time.... I think the shooter is following me, thats the 3rd shooting that has been a mile or less from a house I lived in..
 
*Sigh* If they don't find any solid leads after this evening, Chesty may be right about his predictions. The sniper could rack up to 50 kills if he wanted to.

Thats what happens when people say the guy isn't anything special at shooting. Trust me...8 kills with 10 shots with a .223 caliber bullet is special. Now it is 9 kills apparently.

damn, just got back from the gym. Home Depot is like 3 miles from my house, and I've been to it. they say they're now looking for a cream colored Astro van.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, you are more likely to die in traffic than get shot by this asshole. People are like buying bullet proof jackets around here. :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

The thing I always say is wait until something really BAD happens...we as Americans have had it too easy. I hate this shit on TV hearing "Isn't it so awful what we are going through?"- I wonder how Israelis can even go outside during the day and live their lives:rolleyes:

NB we know you're brave and level-headed but the "more likely to be killed by car statistic" wasn't meant to be compared to your chances of being selected as a target by a cold-hearted mass killer roaming around your neighborhood. Now go out and get yourself a couple of bulletproof jackets and helmets pronto!....................on 2nd thought, wait until daylight and get it from a very crowded store. :)

A lot of bullet proof vests could stop a typical .223 round. I'm not aware of bullet proof helmets but I'm sure they exist.
 
Putting on a helmet would prolly be like painting a bull's eye on your forehead....

This guy is clearly an exceptional shot. 9 of 11 dead from 200-500 yards, and I think he's just warming up. He's going for a one shot kill- head shot usually from a front angle. Ain't no helmet gonna stop a bullet that enters between the eyes.

My bet is this guy's gonna start going for 1000+ yard shots pretty soon, maybe even cops.

This is sick. The media needs to completely stop all coverage immediately just on the off chance that's it's just egging him on. Fortunately, the more people are aware of this, the more likely an fortunate coincidence will catch this guy.

He can kill virtually anyone. Why not a cop for maximum taunting effect? Perhaps ex-military; common law-and-order bond?
 
Vests have different designations for strength of the bullet. I, II, III & IV.

you can only mildly comfortably wear a level I or II vest (strong enough to stop a midsize handgun bullet). A level III requires ceramic plating. and a .223 round requires a level III vest to stop it. Unless you want to wear heavy & hot ceramic plates all day, it probably won't help much.

Damn, even though i'm in indiana & this is 'just a story on CNN', i didn't know how many of you guys are actually part of the action because you live nearby. nature boy & S_V live nearby. Ranger was questioned by the cops. damn

Luckily, none of you will be hurt. Like NB said, you're more likely to die in a car wreck than to be hit by a sniper.

One shooter, one spotter and so far I don't think he is taunting law enforcement at all. Not like the Zodiac killer or other nut jobs. He is doing his job and quite well.

Marines are quite capable of 90% plus kill rates.
 
terrorist or not, judging by how pussified everyone is where I live I'm sure this guy has given the terrorists a good idea on how to scare the shit out of everyone. meanwhile I'm going to go to the gas station and pump gas for people.

yeah right. If you do the math, you see. Statistically, how many people live in the washington beltway area. 2 million maybe? how many have been shot so far. 11. How many will be shot. probably about 30. That means you have to be one of the .0015% of the population who actually lives in the area.

That depends on several factors:

Was the .224 bullet launched from a .223 or 22-250 or 220 Swift?

How hot was the load? Gunpowder used and packing density.

Distance the bullet traveled.

Bullet construction. Could be armor piercing, full metal jacket, ballistic tip, soft point, etc.

Bullet weight.
 
You can't live in fear, but you can sure live with more awareness of your surroundings.

Chances are if he is using an AR-15 it is the A2 model Hbar, with the heavier bullet, can't recall the weight but it is around 65grn as opposed to the 55 for the A1.

He is probably using either a 4 power or 10 power scope with a bullet drop compensator or mil dot reticle. This is not your average run of the mil rifle.

The governors should declare martial law for a week or two and get the military in there unabated and hunt this fucking rag down like a bitch dog!

they just said on the news here that the suspect was seen on this last one, and they got a partial on the license plate and was either spanish/mexican, or arabic (sp?) in decent.

eye witnesses are notoriously bad though, so we shall see.

that would help the terrorist concept I guess.

or I can start saying "fucking mexicans" more easily with less dirty looks in public
