sadly, heavyweight boxing isn't nearly as exciting as these middle weight guys are. There is so much comptition. Heavyweight boxing is terrible.
That loss deeply saddened me.Mosely is such a personable guy,a truely classy fighter who always caters to his fans.I was hoping to see him retire undefeated.I'm just glad he wasn't seriously injured,that combo Forrest put him down with was devastasting-straight right,HUGE right uppercut,left hook followed by a devasting straight right.Give Sugar Shane props for his heart just for getting up from that,let alone lasting the entire fight.I agree with the above statement and what the HBO commentators were saying,it looks like Forrest has the style and physical means to beat him over and over.It was very interesting what Forrest said on how he was able to defeat a seemingly faster opponent-"The way to beat an opponent who has much faster hands than you is to just keep hitting him with the jab all night."Very wise words,a good jab can literally control the entire tempo of any fight,either offensively,or defensively.Forrest is a very SMART fighter,and that is one of his most important assets.

oh it was a HBO fight? Please don't tell me Larry Merchant was on TV. That mofo is terrible, he talks so damn slow!!! And he's interviewing guys that are punch drunk already! Out with it man!!

Vernon just has his number. Say what you want, but a professional fighter that goes undefeated for 38 straight fights is a good fighter. Add to the fact that during that 38 fight undefeated span, he was never knocked down once says even more.
Pound for pound Mosley has to be one of the most dominant fighters around. After the beating he took today, to have the heart to continue the match and finish it up, tells you right there.
The guy is what profesional boxing is all about. Win or lose, the guy is humble about his business. He will be back on the scene.
True,I often wonder if Merchant pops a handfull of barbituates before he goes on the air.Not only is he slow,but he always tosses out those meaningless analogies,"He's moving side to side like a fiddler crab trying to avoid being stepped on."LOL...

and he'll throw out some big words to when he's interviewing a boxer after a fight. Imagine Merchant and Harold Letterman having a conversation. Talk about two extremes! (for those who don't know Letterman is the guy who talks real fast and tells us what the judges scorecard might be during the fight.... "I got it scored, 48 to 44 for Forrest". You know the guy)

Larry Merchant is such a asshole and one of these days a boxer will knocked him on his ass. Tyson came very close once. Once saw two fighter go 12 rounds and each was knocked down several times, the fight was very close and went the distance. The fight could have gone either way and Larry has the nerve to asked the loser about retiring.
