Shadow??? HELP!!

Thanks Sassy...

Just got done w/ my trainer. Done quite a bit of research into diet. Built a fairly decent one-so i thought. Looking to cut, but not competiton cut. I'm fat. I need to lose weight. This tool just told me to cut out oatmeal, tuna, and raw veggies. What's up? What am I missing here?

What is the diet the trainer said to follow? List it and the reasons why.

Grilled chicken, grilled salmon, steamed veggies. No egg yolks. Salad not great. No tuna. No oatmeal.

Gave no portions, disagreed w/ 5-6 small meals.

No reasons why.

Is he just a tool? ;)

damn.......

lok at Skittles diet on the project thread

Shadow-read it, twice. Read for hours and hours on diet. Like I said, thought I had down. Don't know what his reasons were. (Other then being a tool.)

So physically, the guy was fine. But nutrionally I'm gonna just blow him off and smile and nod. You guys have better advice then he does!!

Daisy-my friend says you look amazing!! :)

AND GET THIS....

He says to wash tuna before you eat it-if you must eat it-in order to wash off the sodium. Isn't that like saying if you break open a cookie all the calories fall out?

lol, thank you. :)

I agree that you will get better advice here. The pool of info here, as well as the collaboration, is FANTASTIC. What I love about asking for advice here is that you get MANY GREAT opinions - there is never ONE way to do things. Getting info from several knowledgeable intelligent people allow you to really tailor things to fit you.

he must eat only thr dougnut holes cuz you know...there are no cals in the holes

Likewise, if I eat a Big Mac and Large Fries - but get a Diet Coke - they cancel each other out....... ;)

You can buy sodium free tuna at Trader Joe's.

No shit? Why didn't someone tell me that dammit?!?!?!?

I'm going to Mc-y D's........maybe I can wash the patties to rinse off the fat & calories? Kick ass!!!

:qt:

Regardless, sodium has nothing to do with weight loss. Sodium will cause WATER retention in some people, sometimes. So the amount of sodium in tuna would nt make a damn bit of difference in your diet.

I am a salt FIEND. I love, and crave, salt constantly. My hubby threatens to get me a salt lick. :) There have never been any "weight" impact because of it or any health impact. My BP is in the low range.

I did this when I did my first BB comp. Trust me, ALL my food was clean. All sources of sodium, etc. were removed from the diet. At one point I was even boiling chicken. I don't understand where this guy is coming from. In a stretch I might say he's giving you a diet that is appropriate for maybe the last 2 weeks before a bb comp, but otherwise that is not a healthy diet to use for any period of time.

What an asshole. Seriously.

Yeah, not sure what the deal is. The guy that I signed up with was pretty cool. I worked with him today on the physical side, my partner worked w/ this asshole. We sat down to go over diet and I was friggin' floored. In addition to which he then blasted us for only meeting w/ a trainer every two weeks. EXCUSE ME??? My guy was cool w/ it, he understood what I was looking for. This guy was just a total prick about it. Straight up told us that we needed to be there 3 times a week and anything less is less then mediocure. What the hell ever.....don't need this shit from somebody I'm paying for.

I still think the point of hiring a trainer is to give yourself a basic foundation or some new ideas that you can learn from & incorporate into your own education so you can help yourself grow. Granted, again, these people need to make a living, but there are plenty of people who are willing to pay someone to count their reps & listen to them bitch about how hungry they are and how fat they are. If you AREN"T one of those people, and the trainer doesn't respect that in you, then fuck 'em. Damn money grubbers.

LOL! Damn I'm harsh.

Sounds like he's just trying to "sell" you.....not really interested in "training" you, but getting his commission for services sold....... Shame....

You are paying for his services -- make sure you get what you want. It's your money!! You wouldn't accept a $9 chicken breast at a restaurant when you asked for & paid $32 for a Filet Mignon.....

And like DG said, I'd love to know why he wants you to eliminate those foods.... that's just weird....
