serious problem or overeacting friend?

my friend is in the middle of week 5, he's taking 200mg deca 350 mg test. he woke me up this morning saying his heart was racing, said his chest felt weird, and he was dizzy. we went and ate breakfast and he said he was feeling better.

it must have started again cuz he went to get checked out.

he got tested for diabetes a few months ago and the doc told him he was fine and that he had low blood sugar.
it seemed to me thats what the problem was considering all he's been eating is meat. BUt he's type of person thats kinda nervous and overreacts to everything.

so whats does this sound like an overeaction?

or w/ this low of dosage could be a more serious problem?

thanks for the help!

I have had low blood sugar before and it sounds something like what you jusr described. It is not a nice feeling and espesially if you have had anxiety problmes before like I do/did. Tell him to go get check out and make sure everything is fine, it should help put his ming at eas knowing he is okay.

I had low blood sugar aswell during my cycle!! this was caused by the AS I was using. My docter told me that taking steroids can cause diabetes so I would tell your friend to be careful.

Since he woke up with those symptoms (last meal was probably 8hrs at least), its my guess he's hypoglycemic. Tell him to add complex carbs to his diet, i.e. pasta and buy a glucometer. The test strips are expensive so he might want to try adjusting his diet first. Then if the problem persists he should go ahead and check it on a regular basis.

As the others have said...sounds like low blood sugar. What he needs to do is stay away from simple sugars as much as possible and eat every two to three hours. Each meal should include protein and complex carbs. If he gets symptoms of low blood sugar then pound some simple carbs but just make sure to follow it up immediately with protein and complex carbs. If needed, schedule a meal or two in the middle of the night to tide you over till morning or eat something with relatively high fat/protein content before bed that will break down slowly throughout the night- peanut butter etc. Seeing the doc again might be good too, good luck- AD
