I need some advice. My hubby is going for bilateral hip replacements in August. What do you guys think of electric stim for healing exceleration?

I have never had a hip replacement, but I have used stim on my back and shoulder. I am currently using it for my back right now. I don't see anything wrong with it. It doesn't seem to have a major speeding up factor for my specific injury, but it helps. and relieves temp pain.

It's definitely not a miracle of science, but it will help to get some bloodflow and some contractions to the specific area. I pitched in college and I had to use it pretty often, it did seem to help.

It's ONLY benefit is pain management, all else is BS.
Especially considering were talking some of the biggest muscles in the body here, hip flexors.
Therapeutic ultrasound maybe a better choice, it helps to break-up scar tissue and promote blood flow.
Caution must be used around prosthetic parts though.
Active/passive stretching is a good call too, through ROM.

HGH post surgery WORKS well bro, i took it after my motorcycle wreck, i had foot reconstruction and wrist reconstruction, doctor said i healed amazingly fast too, i think its worth it! and as for the stim, not sure, i know i had to have a bone graft out of my hip into my foot, way inside my ankle, and i wore this big electromagnetic bone stimulator to try and stimulate the bone graft to take, doctor said it was a new technology, insurance paid 6 grand for it too....worked well i think

I have used it for back and neck injuries and it did help as stated above. I wouldn't think it would hurt and would be a good temp solution for pain, but I would suggest asking the therapist this. They will guide you. Good luck.
