Seperation/Divorce party

Friend of mine is finally doing what he's been afraid to do for years, getting a divorce. We want to throw some sort of party or celebration. Any ideas? Anyone ever been to one or had one? He's only been married for about 4 years but was with this woman for 9.

first of all.

make sure he is in the mood for a party

Hm - never been to one but if I had thought of it, I'd have thrown one myself.

I agree with Pint - make sure he's ok with the divorce & will see it as a celebration. Then get some silly "Prison" themed party stuff - like a pair of plastic cuffs that he can break to symbolically "break it off" and "come clean." As well as plastic ball & chain he can break free of. Some supportive friends, good food & drink & celebrate his new freedom!!

A divorce party ? Never heard of such thing. I say, bring to him to the strip joint or hire an escort.

If your friend was a hot chick, I am sure a lot of bros would have good ideas for what to do with her :chomp:

but since it is a dude, I am sure most won't care....

He's cool with it. He's pissed because he took so long to get the balls to leave her. I'm thinking maybe a weekend in Atlantic City?

That sounds good. It really depends on his personality. Is he the type that would just want to chill? Or would he enjoy a nice weekend of gambling, drinking, coke, strippers and escorts?

yeah, all except the coke. He's laid back but still knows how to have a good time. Or at least he used to. We haven't seen much of him for the last bunch of years.

Just make sure he isn't left alone after you get him all boozed up. He might find a phone and make the late night "I Love You" call. Fuck up the whole thing!

Yes. Don't get him to too Fucked up(like every dumbass does at a batchelor party)

Then, get him laid. But, be sure he doesn't fall in love with one of the first few chicks he bangs...He will be right back where he started

Also, be prepared to spend alot of time with him. He was with that chick for 9 yrs, so he will be lonely. Do things like going to the grocery store with him. Make it fun like flirting with girls there...Or, he will go right back to her (or another) because he is used to being with someone

I don't think I'd want a party. For as much as we don't want to be together it doesn't make is any less sad.

I prefer to think of it as a new beginning for him. Also to let him know were there for him. And yes to have a little fun along the way
